「病が流行したら私の姿を写して人々に見せよ」と告げて海へ帰ったという言い伝えが残ることから、疫病退散に御利益があると信じられてきた。

【What is amabie…? 】
A half-man and half-fish monster transmitted to Japan.
It has been believed that there is a benefit to the eradication of the plague, as the legend tells them that they should go back to the sea when the disease spreads.
